Rath Yatra organised

DEHRADUN: A Rath Yatra was organised to commemorate the 9th Foundation Day of the Digambar Jain Panchayati Mandir, Majra, here, today. Soon after the Puja and Abhishek of the mandir were completed, the flag hoisting was performed by Chandra Sen Jain and “Lamp Lighting” was done by Ravinder Jain.
Soon after that, the Rath Yatra bagan from the Mandir at Majra to Niranjanpur, Patel Nagar, Telephone Exchange and back to the Mandir.
The three tableaux of the Rath Yatra were the prime attraction.
On the way, “Aarti” was performed many times and the rath was led by members of various religions. Besides the messages from scriptures on the Rath, the 'Airawat' elephant, horses, buggy, etc., were also included. As per the religious beliefs of the Jains, such a yatra has to be organised once a year for the cleansing of the environment and purification all the souls.
