TR Thapa elected Pres of U’khand Nepali Bhasha Samiti

DEHRADUN: Tika Ram Thapa has been elected President of the Uttarakhand ‘Rajya Nepali Bhasha Samiti’. The election of the new Executive of the Samiti was held at the Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha under the supervision of Election Officer Suraj Rai, here, today.
Thapa was earlier Vice President of the Samiti and will succeed Rajendra Singh Gurung as President.
Bishnu Prasad was elected Senior Vice President, KS Limbu, Rajendra Malla and Hari Singh Gurung, Vice Presidents, and Shyam Rana was re-elected General Secretary. Lok Maya Rai and Anita Ale were elected Secretaries, Jagdeshwari Rai will be the new Treasurer and Lal Bahadur Thapa has responsibility as Organisational Secretary. Raman Ale has been elected Publicity Secretary. Babbar Gurung would continue to remain Patron of the Samiti. Thirty-one members were also elected to the Executive.
The election of the new Executive, to hold office for the next two years, was held after the bi-annual convention of the Samiti. Chief Guest NBS Bisht, President, Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha, said that no community could move forward without the youth, hence, they also ought to be involved in community affairs.
