Power cuts get longer in Nainital, residents warn of agitation

Nainital: The duration of load shedding by electricity department in Nainital has been extended from two hours to the entire day. The traders and the students are the worst sufferers. The residents are highly irritated by the longer duration of power cut.
For the last one month the timings of load shedding was from 1.00 p.m. 3.00 p.m. which has now been extended to the entire day thus creating a lot of problems for the residents, specially the students preparing for board examinations to be held soon. The chill in the weather has also added to the woes of the city. The traders were much annoyed as they told that the light would not be available from the opening hour till the closure of the shops in the late evening. They also stated that it was for the first that the load shedding was taking such long periods, never before it happened in Nainital, they reminded.
The residents of the city have threatened to lay siege in the electricity office if the old schedule of load shedding (2 Hours) was not restored. If needed the traffic would be block, they warned.
