State Govt not pursuing construction of Rly Overbridge in Doon”

Dehradun: Northern Railway Users Consultative Committee has blamed the State Government for the delay in the construction of Railway Overbridge proposed to be constructed between Rest Camp and Ritha Mandi.
Addressing a Press Conference here today, member of the Muradabad Circle, Anil Kumar Gupta also blamed the state government for the delay in flyovers in Nageena and Najibabad. He claimed that he raised the issues related to the extension of Railway line between Dehradun and Kalsi, Rishikesh-Doiwala, Rishikesh-Karnaprayag and Rishikesh-Dobra Lake at the meeting of the committee’s meeting.
It was decided that the survey reports in respect of Dehradun-Kalsi and Rishikesh-Karnaprayag routes would be studied soon and the followup would be pursued. A proposal for the extension of railway line on Rishikesh-Doiwala route had been forwarded to the Railway Department.
A proposal for the extension of railway line on the Rishikesh-Dobra Lake would be forwarded to the Centre for consideration. He informed that the proposal for opening of a Computerised Reservation Terminal at Doiwala was under consideration of the Railway Department and hopefully, it would soon be cleared.
Proposals for upgradation of Dehradun, Harrawala and Raiwala Stations were considered positively and had been forwarded to the Department for further action. He also claimed that the works related to Doubling of tracks between Dehradun-Haridwar, and Haridwar –Delhi would soon be completed. Electrification of Railway line between Laksar and Dehradun would also soon be completed.
Gupta added that a proposal had been made for a Superfast train between Dehradun and Bandra (in Mumbai) and was being forwarded to the Centre for approval.
